Hi, I am Michael Gitari

Chief Credit Officer

Michael is a seasoned Credit Risk Analysis, Credit Administration and Credit Risk Management Professional. He previously held the role of Regional Chief Credit Officer, East & Southern Africa at United Bank for Africa. Before this, he was the Head of Credit Risk at African Banking Corporation and previously held various leadership roles in Credit Departments of other Commercial Banks and Financial Institutions.

He has over 16 years of hands-on experience in Credit, the end-to-end credit life cycle for all borrowing clients in Retail Banking, Business Banking, Corporate Banking and Investment Banking & Markets.

Michael brings a wealth of experience in Credit Management function which includes offering leadership in lending, credit administration, portfolio management, remedial management and credit recoveries.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, an MBA- Finance from Kenya Methodist University, and is an Associate of the Kenya Institute of Bankers.

Michael has also undertaken several certifications and in Leadership, Accounting and Project Management.
